Workshop 1: Introduction to Climate Change Challenges and Opportunities in Connectivity Infrastructure Projects
The first workshop of the series will be on the Introduction to Climate Change Challenges and Opportunities in Connectivity Infrastructure Projects and scheduled to take place on 6 – 8 June 2022 from 18:00 – 20:30 Beijing time. The objective this first workshop is to ensure that participants have a solid foundation of knowledge ahead of the sector-specific workshops, and to also cover key cross-sectoral issues. The general concepts of climate change mitigation and adaptation and their relevance and practical experience to connectivity infrastructure projects will be presented. In addition, the basic concepts, sources of financing, and new instruments for climate financing applicable to infrastructure projects will be discussed.

This workshop is targeted at professionals working on development finance, especially for infrastructure projects. Specifically,
• Developing country governments, with a particular focus on climate and planning agencies, PPP units, and technical staff of sector agencies (ports, transport, energy);
• Emerging market financiers and other private sector actors; and
• Project managers, clients, and partners of IFIs and bilateral agencies working in the connectivity infrastructure space and/or climate change.
